Main Team vs. Pre-Team: What's the Difference?
To start, no matter what the age or ability, main team or pre-team, all our swimmers are full fledged SEAHAWKS! All team members are encouraged to participate in all spirit activities, be in the team picture, wear the team suit, etc.
Our main team consists of those swimmers who are able to confidently make it across the length of the pool without assistance. Does this mean they have perfected every stroke? Nope! We just need to know that these swimmers can be in the water, safely, and participate in lap swim practices. During main team practices, coaches are not typically in the water but rather on deck watching, critiquing technique, and giving instruction.
Our pre-team swimmers cover a range of ability levels. Some swimmers may just be learning to blow bubbles and put their head under water. Other swimmers may put their head in the water, know how to kick, and even know how to do a freestyle stroke---but they just haven't put it all together yet! Basically, pre-team is for those who still need in-water instruction and assistance. These swimmers typically range from ages 4-6. However, we've had 8-year olds on pre-team and we've had 5-year olds swimming in A meets. Everyone is different and progresses at their own pace. We welcome any and all.

How Do I Register For Pre-Team?
Visit the same registration page as for our main team and complete the process. As most of our pre-team swimmers are in the 4-6 age range, the discounted registration rate of $165 applies to swimmers who are 4, 5 or 6. If you have a swimmer who is 7+ who you feel is better suited for pre-team, please contact [email protected] for instructions to receive the discounted rate.
Once you have registered your swimmer, you will see an automatic pop-up page that provides you with a Sign-Up Genius link. This Sign-Up Genius link will also appear on the confirmation email you receive. You must visit that link to select your pre-team practice slot for the 2025 season. We are offering 24 pre-team slots this season. Twelve slots for 5:30-6:00PM and twelve slots for 6:00-6:30PM. These are on a first come, first serve basis so select a practice slot as soon as possible.
